Family love

Today, I'd arranged a family reunion to see family I hadn't seen in years. Out of about 20 people, only 3 said they would come. One messaged to cancel the night before. The other two no-showed. FML

While I realize the loneliness stemming from the COVID pandemic makes you crave more togetherness, this is not the right time to see people who you are not living or working with. Just because they are extended family doesn’t mean that getting together with them is without risk. Try again next year.
