Don't do this

Today, I was going to propose to my girlfriend of 4 years in front of the sell-out crowd at the baseball game, but at the security checkpoint, the security guard made me take the ring out and open it after I walked through the metal detector. No need to say it, worst proposal ever. FML

I'm so sorry OP:( however if it were me getting proposed to, I would just be so enthralled and happy that the person I love would go through this effort just to be with me. I'm sure that you significant other is going to be happy, and you two will have pretty babies<3

The way your line breaks are makes me feel like this is a really sad poem

"Where'd you get the ring? From the Cracker Jack Box?!" I totally could see this happening.

My grandfathers favorite snack is cracker jacks so that is what he proposed with.

Unless they've planned to not have children, or to adopt :)

On the bright side it'll be a proposal you and her will never forget!

Is she running? Cause if she is running, I'm voting for her...

if i were your girlfriend i'd be really impressed that you bothered to plan out the whole thing; the security check thing will be nothing more than a great joke in the future. hope she said yes :))

Hope you can look and laugh about it in the future

I'm sorry your surprise was spoiled, but overly public proposals are overrated. Worry less about how the proposal goes down (and how your wedding will be) and more about your relationship. Hopefully she said yes, and you can focus on building your life together. And at least you didn't drop the ring between the rows of seats, as some schmuck did the other night at a ball game. And yes, I'm middle aged and cranky.
