Good chance it was already dead. a wild mouse would have ran away while you were moving around packing stuff up.
That is so sad. Mice are your favorite animal? C'mon, man! Mice aren't even the best rodent! Squirrels, beavers and hamsters are much better!
If you can let something literally so small and unrelated to the situation effect you and your future decisions so much you clearly have way larger issues. I can understand your fml if say you were forced to kill said mouse in order to set up your tent, but seriously? Are you going to quite living in your house/apartment/dwelling when you realize there are dead mice there too?
