Today, a customer at the restaurant where I work reduced me to tears by screaming at me, as I nearly knocked out his 2-year-old with the kitchen door, after he let the little boy play on the floor behind it. Apparently, it's my fault I can't see through solid wood. FML

I see nothing wrong with a human door stop. However, it should be the dad because he clearly has no mental activity.

I can't see his brain, either.

Hearing these stories makes me think about how maybe removing kids from unfit parents and put in orphanages wasn't all that bad, except for the definition of unfit back then involving race and creed.

what idiot lets their kid play at a restaurant? especially in front of the door where people walk in and out from, freaking retard I swear parents these days.

Lot of parents don't even keep a eye on their kids. Where I work we have so many kids running around the store and running up and down the stairs to our break room. Believe it or not kids lose track of their parents and the parents don't realize it until the kid comes up to us crying for their mommy :/

The customer is an asswipe who needs lessons in parenting.

Working in food service is thankless enough without these kinds of customers. I would have cried too, or possibly even gone a little batty due to the stress. HULK SMASH PUNY STUPID CUSTOMER!

You did nothing wrong. Why would you cry?

Sorry OP! Not only is that father an idiot for letting his kid play near a swinging door but, coming from someone who was in the industry for years, the floors near the kitchen door can be some of the dirtiest places. Just think of all the servers who may have spilled a bit of something on their way in/out of that door, not to mention how NASTY all restaurant ! EW!

He should be lectured on his obvious lack of parenting skills
