Today, I overheard my mother and sister talking so I stopped to eavesdrop. I recently enlisted in the Marines, and they were talking about what they would do with the money if I died. FML

That kinda sucks, but mostly YDI for enlisting in the Marines. Don't forget to leave a suicide note when you leave..

how does he deserve it for wanting to serve his country. he's got more balls than you can ever hope to. he is doing an amazing thing that takes a lot of courage. have some respect.

Wow your a disgrace >_> people may die. But at least emo pricks like you live to talk down about them woo hoo make there sacrifice worth something ignorant and childish. Grow up grow wtf ever respective part u have and a brain then figure it the **** out. if not dont comment people dont need to lose moral because of retarded lazy selfish bastards like you. You really make me sick. I dont like i lost my friends. i dont like killing or seeing others suffer but atleast it isnt on our front door step.

Change ur benefactor, its quite ez. That's pretty ****** up dude. Semper.

#72 My apologies. The story is very different now.

YDI for eavesdropping. So, what ARE they going to do with the money?

it pays to have a sense of humor. haha.. maybe your family does? : ) Death is a hard thing to deal with and I bet they brought up the money because people in the military are in harms way.. so they probably were thinking of the bright side if you did die lol.. it makes sense xD..

Wow, whoever voted "you deserved that one" needs to be bashed in the face with a hammer. He's a United States Marine. He's an American hero. Under no circumstances does he deserve to be surrounded with lowlifes who treat him like that.

it does somewhat depend on how they were discussing it. but for clarification on how much it would be, it is 100k immediately to family for expenses to bury and such, than 400k after a bit of time. Depending on the cause of death though, some ways your family gets nothing. Me myself being a marine as well, would say not to have them as the recipients of anything that you have coming, be it investments or benefits.

That's just awful!! If they were serious then take them out of your will. Or make it so they can only collect if they enlist...
