Insomnia is an unholy thing. But you can get through it with rest. I found out from a psychologist that you don't need to actually sleep to at least semi rest your brain. Just settling down with your fav chill music (the more you know the music the better) on headphones, physically relaxing as much as you can and closing your eyes for the album can really help. It's kind of meditation, you focus on the music & let it drown out the thoughts for a while. It gives you an hour's mind break from the crap doing the fandango round your brain. That's got me through a lot of insomnia over the years, just knowing that rest and sleep aren't entirely the same thing and that regular resting can get you through it. I'm afraid I can't you help with the other problem though... Hope things get better for you soon.
Being gay doesn't give someone a pass for acting that way. I would have just fired outright or at least talk with the wife and communicate to cut it out.
