Today, as I was making instant hot chocolate from the hot water dispenser in the break-room at work, a coworker informed me that it was industrial "recycled" wastewater that was only supposed to be used for washing tools. Thanks. I've only been doing that every day for the past 8 months. FML

If you haven't gotten sick yet, I must bow down to you for surviving for so long.

How do you not notice something like that after that many months?

look at the bright side - your immune system is probably comparable to that of Zeus by now.

I don't see how something like that would end up in the breakroom though...

If the water boils, it kills most if not all waterborne pathogens, so you should be good to continue. You might not want to, now that you know. Oh, and if all your coworkers were standing away from you giggling and making furtive glances towards you for the past 8 months, it's safe to say that they were laughing at you, not with you.

At least it was recycled instead of the real thing.

What, you thought it was real sewage water?

24 even if the germs are dead it doesn't automatically mean it's safe to drink, it could still be contaminated with heavy metals, pesticides, arsenic etc.

Because putting all of the above on the tools you handle is a good idea?

Yeah man I'm sure she will servive a nuclear bomb attack and be able to survive by drinking radioactive water and eat zombies and she will still be 100% healthy I should go to sleep

Even if you are tired, you just made my night. XD

lack of sleep makes for wonderful comic fodder however... XD

give up your stomach for scientific research; they just might find something.

Don't ya think the OP would've read that?

overthelimit 3

why would they put that in the break room if its not for drinking?

Exactly. Sounds like the coworker was just messing with OP.

Tool washing station wouldn't be in the break room

yeah, they want all your hot water for themselves.

That's bullshit, you must pretty gullible.

mdizzl 6

shouldn't the taste have been off if it was recycled wastewater? how did you not notice that?

If it's been heated to the boiling point, I think it's still drinkable.

I confirm your statement boiling it would mean it is drinkable
