Today, I found out we have new neighbors in our apartment complex that park in the stall next to our truck. Turns out their car is the same make of our truck. And it also turns out that when I unlock our truck it will set off their car alarm - every time. FML

Can't you just manually unlock your car?

Simple solution really. Murder their car. There can only be one!!

Twinsies!!! Sorry that was uncalled for. But hey great minds think alike.

Lol twinsies. Not a good thing!!! I had a Chevy Malibu and the key the deal gave me also worked to unlock and start my friends Ford haha

Exactly 35. OP it sounds like a problem with the keyless entry. Use your head and just insert the silver, keylike object (I think it's called a "key") into the little slot next to the door handle (called a "lock"). It may take a few tries, but you'll get used to it and it'll work like a charm every time!

38- Shut up. You fail at being sarcastic.

For all the comments about suggesting OP uses the key to manually lock/unlock the car: Sometimes, in certain makes/models of cars, you can use the keyless entry to lock the car/set the alarm, but you must also use the keyless entry to unlock the car, because if you unlock the car manually, the alarm will go off (that's what I learned the hard way with my car). So unless OP doesn't mind not being able to use her car alarm/keyless entry, I suggest going to the dealership with the neighbor to try and straighten this out.

To 41 in regards to 38, if they can't tell it's a truck or car then I don't think the key idea will work very well.

Now that's a good idea. I couldn't think of any way other then just leave with their car/truck alarm going off.

At least it's not your alarm going off

I assume your using an automatic unlock button. So use your key. That shouldn't do a thing to their car.

64- come on now, that takes some serious common sense to pull off...

A little aggravating maybe. Doesn't really **** your life up though.

Ohh really how bout u try it out and see how u like it pft.

Imagine getting in your car to go to work, only for some guy to threaten you with a baseball bat for stealing his car. Now imagine that happening every day. His life really is ******.

Blah blah blah! "oh why don't you drain the pool before trying to repair it?" "or, why can't you just go around the himalayas?" "or, wear pants!" Sheesh! All you guys and your 'sound logic', so annoying!

The real solution here is to drive the neighbours out of the complex. No neighbours, no car, no more problems. Party at OPS PLACE!!!!

Depends on the OP's situation. I have 2 young toddlers, and to have to manually unlock the car means more than just a slight inconvenience. I have an older car now and have to every time, I HATE it, and if I had the remote no way I would stop using it! It'd be annoying, but hey, I'd be the one leaving and they'd have to come shut it off... More their problem than mine :/

I like your thinking, it's very... solutionative. lol

I agree with 50. But if your situation's different then use the clicker only when their cars not around. And key when they are.

so use the key instead of the unlock button?

Depending on the alarm system of the car, if you use the key the alam will go off. My car does that, and it's irritating. And if the car alarm goes off, it might set the other car alarm off too.

^ That and op could have a newer car, in which using your key still engages and disengages the alarm.

I had to disconnect the horn to my car because my keyless entry will stop working at times and I have to use the key. When I use the key, my horn starts blaring and it won't stop. Even while I'm driving and turned the car back off. I've been flipped-off hundreds of times due to that problem..

I got to say, if a car alarm goes off when you open it with the key, that's a really stupid system

Or not? You know how easy it is to pick a lock? Or break the lock to get in? I ha to break into my friends suv because he locked the keys inside.. I got in with a ruler and my fingers.... So when someone breaks into your car wouldnt you want an alarm that will discover them?

I thought they were all different, otherwise you could unlock other peoples car. So I don't think this is real... Just my opinion.

He didn't say it unlocked the neighbors truck just set off the alarm and that can happen. It happened to me once in a hotel parking lot. I thought it was funny..... Just think of how much you could mess with their heads.

Life's going to be much harder now.. Fyl. I really do feel for you.

Yep. Twins are evil. You're supposed to drive one out into the forest and leave it to fend for itself or die.

Then just use the key genius.
