Today, I was having a rough day and decided to go out for a walk at 1 a.m. to clear my head. I ended up being driven home by two cops, who thought I was prostituting myself at the truck stop. When we arrived, they had a nice conversation with my parents. FML

Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, after taking my crush to the train station late at night, I sat in a local park alone with my thoughts for a while. Two cops appeared out of nowhere and started searching me for drugs and weapons, asking me questions for a good 30 minutes. Not the kind of action I expected tonight. FML
Today, I was walking down the street and while stopped at a light, this old man waved at me. Thinking nothing of it, I walked through a parking lot to get to where I was going, where he not only followed me, but mistook me for a prostitute. It was 5pm. FML
Today, I was walking my little sister home from the eye doctor. It was raining out so we were kind of in a hurry to get home. We get home and about half an hour later, the cops show up. Apparently, someone saw me walking my sister and called the cops on me thinking I was a child molester. FML
Today, I was driving back home after hanging out with some friends. I drove pass a woman standing next to a broken down car. I felt bad, so went back and offered her a ride home. Turns out it wasn't her car and she was a hooker. FML
Today, my friend and I were getting picked up by his dad after a carnival. As I put my stuff in the back of the car and shut the door to walk around to get in the other side, his dad drove off, thinking I was in the car, leaving me to walk up their hill. It was midnight and I ended up lost. FML
Today, my father told me to take the car and get some groceries. An hour and a half later, coming home with the groceries, I see the cops all around my house because my dad had called them, thinking that I had run away and stolen the car. FML
Today, I called the cops to let them know that a drunk man was driving dangerously down my road. About an hour later, I was going to the store and got pulled over for speeding by the cop I called. FML
Today, I was drunk and crashed on my friend's couch to sober up. On the drive home, a cop pulled me over for seemingly no reason. He kept asking if I had been drinking, to which I answered no. Finally, he told me to look in the mirror. My friends had written all over my face while I slept. FML
Today, I tried to have a fun night out. I met a guy and we went back to "his" place, which turned out to actually be his mother's house. He introduced me to her. Two hours later, I knew his life story and had to do the walk of shame without ever getting anywhere near his bedroom. FML
Today, I decided to be responsible and call a cab to take my drunk ass home from the bar. As I climbed into the cab, I was quickly pulled back out and had the shit beaten out of me by a group of drunk guys who thought they needed the ride more. The police soon arrived and arrested us all. FML

She was at a truck stop in Connecticut. I lived there for 14 years before moving to Texas and I can say that there are plenty of actual prostitutes at the truck stops there. I'm not really surprised at all, late at night, girl who's walking not driving, at a truck stop ect. I don't really blame the cops.

I agree 36, but read my factors that lent to the police's decision. I went to go piss in a truck stop bathroom near New Bristol at the young age of 13 and a woman outside of the bathroom propositioned me for sex. This was during the damn day. Just imagine the same location at night.

I've been stopped by the police for walking around late at night. I work overnights and travel through a bunch of different neighborhoods, I've always been allowed to continue on my way. OP your problem is that you're young enough to be living with your parents. The police were just looking out for you.

If the cops thought you were a prostitute, then there is a possibility some random guy might assume you're a prostitute. He may have even pulled you into his car/truck if you refused. You should count your lucky stars it ended the way it did. Don't make yourself look like a **** if you're planning on wondering around the streets alone in the dark; you'll attract unwanted attention.

Ever consider the police take everything seriously? May be their job, but isn't that a little too much? Who knows, she may have been "covered up" and the police thought he clothes were too exposing? Think of all the options, then we have a story :).

It doesn't matter how, she was a young female that looked unhappy wandering around a truck stop. The cops jumped to conclusions and picked her up without proof. They're morons, likely (to go off stereotypes, though they could just as easily be big city cops) small town cops with hero complexes and too much free time that they spend 'studying' by watching cops, drinking beer, and patting themselves on the back.

Personally I'd much ether explain to my parents that I was going for a walk and the cops took me home instead of explaining to them that i was raped..
