Today, I was talking to myself in the bathroom to remind myself of what chores I need to do. My husband overheard me and is now convinced that I was on the phone with someone. No amount of proof, logic or reasoning can convince him that I'm not cheating on him. FML

OP here: I'm a work-from-home mom and devoted wife :) We share bank accounts, mails, FB profiles (yes, we're one of those couples) and anything else you could think of...He knows how my phone works and what features it has better than myself, so to sum up - no, there is absolutely no reason he would think that except the fact that I am the first relationship he hasn't cheated in, so I guess it's true what they say - 'you assume for others what you're capable of yourself' :) cheers to all,

The best kind of lovers: the ones you secretly call to talk about your chores.

I also make calls to a person I'm having an affair with in the bathroom while my husband is home. I feel like he doesn't have common sense if he thinks you chose the bathroom when there's many places out there you could call and not be heard by your husband. Fyl op, hopefully he grows up.

that could be saying what she has to do possibly talking about when he can be gone so she can cheat. its perfectly understandable he might think that right off the bat, it just isn't understandable that he doesn't believe the proof of otherwise.

40- its not reasonable to think they're cheating right off the bat unless they've been caught cheating before. Even if I was on the phone in another room for privacy there has to be absolutely no trust in the relationship or me as a person to instantly think that's what was going on.

technically I was only giving my own opinion since what it and isn't reasonable isn't for you or me to decide. that's just an opinion. everyone's different with different thoughts running thru their head, jealousy or anxiety being some.

Idk what to say OP, he seems very protective and a little overzealous about it.

you can delete certain calls from your call history

And maybe a bit self concious. Either way it was an overreaction.

Yeah but does he have reason to be paranoid?

Sorry OP, maybe he'll come to his senses.

and talking about household chores of all things! I don't know about you but I love listening to the person I have an affair with talk about household chores with her husband (and possibly kids!)

Especially with my husband in earshot!

My mother did this lmao. And yes she was cheating. But Ops husband is a little retarded.

Has he been cheated on in past relationships? Might explain some of his behavior.

Sounds like someone has a guilty conscience to me.. The way he's jumping to conclusions and sticking to them stubbornly.

1- He could have heard OP mutter something in the bathroom; 2- If he heard that and OP had, in the past showed any sign of unfidelity (does that word exists?) then he could be jumping onto that based on her behavior; 3- We don't know anything about their relationship, so we can't judge him, or her. All we can do is to guess.

Of course you have to call and tell your secret lover low and slow how you have to take out the trash and mop up... ultimate fetish

"Oh baby mop it slow~....I want those tiles soaked and ready"

If he really believes you're cheating just because he overheard you talking to yourself...he's a complete moron.

She said proof didn't matter or change his mind, we're not dealing with a sane person
