Today, I was insulted and harassed by my sister and her boyfriend, all because I proposed yesterday. They were angry I might get married before they did. They have known each other since primary school; I met my fiancée earlier this year. FML

I wish people would just learn to be happy for their family members instead of doing crap like that. How is it YOUR fault that they aren't married yet? Congrats on getting engaged, OP. Hope at least the rest of your family and friends are happy for you two.

i agree. it would make much more sence if it was reversed- that his sister is in a relationship less than a year, and that he and his gf were together since primary school. either he messed up writing this, or its not an fml at all.

sure your sister and her boyfriend sound kind of douchy, but you met your fiancee earlier this year? You've known eachother for a maximum of 9 months and you're already getting married? If my younger brother were to get married that early into a relationship I'd be on his back too, perhaps that's what your sister is trying to do also, perhaps this isn't about you getting married before them. I'm think the sister is more upset she's marrying someone so soon after only meeting them earlier in the year.
