Today, my band played for our school. We were cheered for and everything. Being the lead singer, I tried to look cool and push the mic away and pull it back by pushing down the bottom of the stand with my foot. It hit my face and I bled like crazy, but I kept singing. No one clapped at the end. FML
Today, I discovered that my ex-girlfriend, who I dated for 6 years, is getting engaged to my friend. The very same "friend" who's been encouraging me to break up with her for the past year. FML
Today, I was insulted and harassed by my sister and her boyfriend, all because I proposed yesterday. They were angry I might get married before they did. They have known each other since primary school; I met my fiancée earlier this year. FML
Today, after waiting 3 months until my friend's wedding was done being celebrated, I announced my engagement. My newlywed friend bitched me out for "stealing" all of the attention and being selfish. FML
Today, I broke up with my girlfriend for another girl. This other girl helped me break up with her so we could date. After it was all done, she promptly rejected me and in front of everyone, saying how much of a douche I was for leaving my girlfriend for another girl. FML
Today, I poured my heart out to my girlfriend of two years expressing my feelings for her. She responded with, "I'm going to bed." FML
Today, as I was planning my impending nuptials with my fiancé, my sister jokingly told him it's not too late to call it off. He took her seriously and bailed. He won’t answer my calls. FML
Today, my best friend told me she was pregnant over the phone. While in the middle of telling her congrats, she told me it was with my boyfriend. FML
Today, I thought I'd surprise my girlfriend with a bear hug. I found her in the hall with her back to me, talking to friends. As I walked up behind her and was about to wrap my arms around her, she said, "So… does anyone have any ideas about how I should break it off with my boyfriend?" FML
Today, my girlfriend broke up with me. It's OK, though, she says we can still go on the vacation I planned next month for our 3 year anniversary, just "as friends." The tickets are non-refundable. FML

Here are three things that currently don't make sense. 1: I just wrote the band name, how the hell are you still going to misspell it? 2: Of course they can post on here. It's an online website. Every time I see a comment like this I can't help but think "damn am I the only one who likes nickelback anymore..? u.u" then I remember that when he went to the country I was born in they threw rocks at them and booed them off stage and the concert ended like 30 seconds into the first song -_-

Zomg, is it? I would have thought that would be merciful and thoughtful, but maybe that is a flawed way of thinking. I think it might depend on the person proposing. If they're not known to handle public embarrassment well then I'd definitely let them down in private.

Proposing in front of a crowd was a stupid thing to do without being sure of her feelings on the matter. But saying "Yes" and then turning around later to say in private "I didn't actually mean it, I just wanted to save face" is a horrible thing to do.

I actually saw once a FML where the girl said yes in front of people and then later said that she said yes to avoid embarrassment and that her real response is no (could be it was a FML on the French version)

Proposals in front of huge crowds = bad idea. Sometimes they turn out great but remember, this is between you and your girl. Talk to her first about it. Marriage is for two people to decide together, not for one to ask suddenly in front of an audience.

Sorry, OP! That sucks. However, usually before asking such an important question in front of an audience, it's a good idea to already know the answer. Otherwise, as in this case, it puts an enormous amount of pressure on the person in question. I hope you all can talk and figure things out together. Good luck!
