Today, I found out that my boyfriend of 5 years only got divorced last year. I never even knew he was married. FML

I hope you realize that divorce can take a while to go through. Yes he should've told you he was married but that doesn't necessarily mean he's a cheater

Doesn’t sound like you had a very close 5 year relationship. There’s no way not to know after a couple of weeks.

I'm not sure why you got downvoted, you're right. Both my brother and his GF are separated from other people (not divorced yet, for a myriad of reasons). Yes he should have been upfront, but it doesn't necessarily mean he's still been with his wife.

My mom left my dad when I was 1. The divorce didn't go through until I was about 5. Sometimes these things can take a while. I remember because she was super excited when it went through.

He should have been up front about that, however it takes a long long time to go through all that crap.
