Did she lie, or did she just say, "I need you to take me to the airport" and you assumed it was the closest one? If she told you one airport but meant another, that's on her. If she said the latter and you didn't inquire further, you have to take some responsibility for that.
Yes and no. If someone asked me for a ride to the airport and there's one 20 minutes away, and one an hour away, I would instantly assume the closer one unless told otherwise. I would only ask if there were two, the same distance apart. It's common sense and common courtesy to say what airport when you ask, because a majority of the world would assume the MUCH closer one. Worse is if the sister habitually does this, I feel bad for OP. That sucks if you're already scraping by and the passenger won't even give as much as they could for gas money.
