It may have been a few years, but it's purely commercial. it's in no way a tradition. And I don't know a single person who actually trick or treats. I've been to a few "halloween parties", but it was always pretty much the same : dress up if you want, but otherwise it's just a party and nobody cares about halloween. It's ridiculous anyway. We don't celebrate the 4th of July, if you're not jewish you don't celebrate Hanoucca, etc, then why should we start celebrating Halloween? Not our traditions. I bet practically no French person who celebrates it knows what it's actually about. It's not like it's the only occasion when you can dress up. Ah well. Everybody do what they want, I don't really care. I don't give a crap about Halloween because I've never celebrated it, I guess. But that doesn't change the fact that the whole "sexy outfit" idea is so ridiculous :D I think I'd just laugh at those girls. Pretentious much?
