While this is slightly awkward, I would take it as a compliment also. She may feel a sense of security with you as she does her father. That's a good thing! ;}

I'm guessing it's because they're older and have been dating for a long time. Even though they aren't married, boyfriend/girlfriend might start to sound a little bit childish and not really represent their commitment.

It is actually the case that women are more attracted to men who smell like their fathers, so that's all fine. Being cognizant of it might be a little weird, though.
