Today, after 6 years of dating, 2 years of marriage, a daughter and another one on the way, my husband decided that he’s "not the one for me" and told me he was leaving for his co-worker who he’s only known for a few months. Apparently they’re more "meant to be." FML

Today, it's been a few years since after I married my soulmate, and two years since he found he had a daughter with his ex. The last two years have been spent in custody court. Our savings are drained by support payments, and our own pregnancy plans are on indefinite hold. I can’t take much more. I want a divorce. FML

Today, my husband sat me down to tell me he’s filing for divorce as he’s fallen out of love with me and loves my 19 year-old daughter (his step-daughter). Furthermore, I’m off the lease when it expires next month so they can live together. We have a 2 month-old son. He replied, “OK, and? I’ll pay child support.” FML

make sure you get child support set up that will pay his fair share. this is why it's far more important that a woman try to find a person who us ready to get married and have a family. if OP got pregnant, then married because of the baby trap, even it it was by accident, the relationship was doomed, because the sperm supplier will feel like his freedom was taken, not given..

Right... except in this case, where they were married at least a year before conceiving their child.

I'm not in any way supporting

I'm not in any way supporting the op's husband, but why is it the first thing on a chicks mind just happens to be child support, fyl for assuming that the op is completly innocent.
RedPillSucks 31
Well, It really doesn't matter whether OP is innocent or not. The father still has a responsibility for child support. Perhaps you're confusing that with alimony, which is a whole other matter.

Those little buggers are expensive! Not all women do that though, my aunt's husband ran off when her son was a year and she never asked him for a penny.

I agree with #24....sum guys are just jerks. I really feel bad for the child for having to be in the middle if their drama. the child is what is important here, not if either of them are gonna be able to date or not.

Well, there are two reasons: 1) You married a complete loser. If he can't keep a commitment for 3 years, perhaps he needs to look at fixing one relationship rather than jumping ship and screwing up another one. 2) You're not doing enough to keep him. Satisfying him sexually, maybe haven't worked off that pregnancy weight quick enough... there are a number of reasons that you may not be fulfilling your role as a wife. Having a baby isn't a guarantee for a guy to stay, not nowadays, so I sure hope that wasn't the reason, because if so, it obviously didn't work. Either way, yeah, FYL, and most likely YDI, whichever the reason.

#58 I was nodding in agreement with your first point, and then I got to the second point and cringed.

agreed #63, She just had the baby what 3 months ago? it takes a bit longer than that to get back a body and that's if your a lucky one who can get the body back! lol. I feel for the child in this situation and for the mom who will most likely end-up raising this said child on her own with a father looking for a booty call... FYL

Staying pretty and skinny is NOT the role of a wife. If you really think that, don't get married. It can be a bonus yes, but you don't divorce someone because they can a little weight and can't seem to get it off fast enough. That's insane.

I don't think 58 is saying you have to be bone thin and perfect, but in all honesty, physical attraction is important in a relationship for both parties. As a woman, I wouldn't want my partner to gain a ton of weight. It would make me not want to be with him, and I'm sure guys feel the same. Some women (not all) do let themselves go and use having a child as an excuse for being a disaster. There's no need to be perfect, but still at least try to be appealing. That being said, I don't think that should be the only reason for divorce. They probably had other issues. FYL op, kids are hard, hopefully you have people to help you.

If I had a serious boyfriend, who I had a real connection with, and he gained enough weight to be unattractive to me, I would try to help him lose weight so I found him attractive again, and support him through the process.

Josh_Factor 0
Thank you. I'm not shallow enough to expect every woman to lose everything super quick after a pregnancy. But as for myself, I have a hard time respecting people who can't respect themselves. There's a difference between having some pregnancy weight, and doubling your weight over several years after the baby. And where is people getting this 3 months from? The OP said the kid was a year old. Who starts counting after conception? I wouldn't be harsh about pregnancy weight with only 3 months... I'm basing my thought off it being a year later.

marriage is a joke now a days such a shame
RedPillSucks 31
It's not a joke if the people involved take it seriously. If not, then that's a personal problem for the people involved, not an issue with the institution of marriage.
