I feel your pain OP... I pretty much have to beg my husband to ever change our daughter's diaper and if he doesn't feel as though my reason is good enough he refuses.
Think about why he's asking to be thanked for such a small thing. He probably feels unappreciated by those whom he spends most of his time with (which is likely you) and wants to have some sense of appreciation from you, which tells us that he has been somehow neglected as of late. Although none of us here on FML know the full story, it is probably much more than him making you excessively thank him for changing a daiper.
Pick your battles OP. it's easier to just say thank you
Make sure he thanks you every time you do something for him
It's his job to change diapers why does he want a pat on the back?

Because it's your child?
"Honey, I just changed a diaper." "Good for you." "Excuse me? Excuse me? I just changed a diaper and all I get is a good for you? I better get a thank you or I am going to throw a tantrum. Consider yourself warned."
