Today, I went to help a friend move into her new apartment. We were half-way through when it started to rain, and in my anger I yelled that it's like these things happen just to annoy me. Then we heard the tornado sirens. FML
Today, while watching TV at my mother's house, a tornado warning came across the screen. After being in the dark, nasty basement for half an hour, my mom realized she was watching a recorded show, and that tornado warning was for 2 weeks ago. FML
Today, my husband told me that he's letting his mother move in with us. He told her it was alright without even consulting me first. I hate my mother-in-law so much that I'm contemplating divorce rather than living with her. FML
Today, my mom's intense fear of tornadoes caused her to break into the bathroom, drag me off the toilet while I was changing my tampon, and drag me to the basement with my pants around my ankles to join my father, brother, and my brother's best friend. FML
Today, I found out that after moving in with my mother and her boyfriend into his place two months ago, she's breaking up with him, and leaving me stuck with him. Awkward. FML
Today, I moved in with an older gentleman renting out a room. Tonight, he had a domestic dispute with his girlfriend, who threw a lawn chair at my car. FML
Today, I was told by step-dad, who I live with, that my mom "hates my guts" while smiling so big, because he got a call from her. He's so desperate for her to come back that all the lying, cheating, manipulation, and emotional abuse doesn't push him away. She's a tornado. FML
Today, I was talking to my mom about how my fiancé has been ignoring me and that I didn't know why. Turns out, my mother told him that I was too much of a handful, was mentally disturbed and also cheating on him. Just so I wouldn't move out and would keep cleaning her house for free. FML
Today, my abusive mom just moved into my house, within two weeks of me losing my job. FML
Today, I've not had any contact with my mother for years, and when tornadoes came through our hometown and wiped out most of our downtown area, she didn't contact me at all. I finally contacted her myself. Her reason for not contacting me? She had "watched the news" and "knew I was OK." FML

Does anyone else feel that OP might be a guy? And that OP's mom was condemning OP's (gay) marriage? It just seems to be a bit much for the mother to say something like that if it were a heterosexual marriage. Or, everyone else is right an OP is a girl and her mom is a religious nut (in any case). :/ Hope everything works out for you, OP. My best wishes are with you.

My thoughts exactly. I feel like if OP were a woman, the mother wouldn't really specify the gender or she would say "...that man." instead of "a man." Plus what problem would an obnoxiously religious woman's God have with her straight daughter? (I'm not Christian, so I really don't know, could someone clarify?) Either way, her mom is an raging assbitch for not helping her child in a such a time of need, regardless of her child's lifestyle.

I'm thinking OP is a woman and she lived with her man before they were married, hence the mother's objection to the relationship. I think if it were an issue of homosexuality, it would be specified. I'd also like to add that most religious parents are not like this, not to this level of crazy, anyway. My parents are devout Christians, and have barely even mentioned the fact that I live with my boyfriend. They also opened up their home to my sister and her boyfriend when they both lost their jobs, and even let them share a room. Religious people are often just ordinary people with certain values who try to raise their children according to those values, but recognize they can't force those values on their children when they grow up. It's a shame that these crazy people are the only ones your ever hear about. They give all the others a bad name.

The only I keep seeing for Red Cross is for donations, haven't been able to get ahold of any one in the militia, I have put information out on several fb blogs that ppl were already talking about helping hopefully I can get a solid response before I get there so I can get to work right away. No luck yet
