Today, after my girlfriend told her mother that she is seeing a different guy than me because her mother doesn’t approve of me, I learned that she is also seeing said guy. FML

Even if she wasn't cheating on you, do you really want to be with someone who doesn't stand up for you as their boyfriend and denies you? I'd hope you have more self-respect than that.

The gf told her mom that she was dating someone else because the mom didn’t approve. But she actually IS dating said person and probably cheating on him.

ok, that makes more sense than what I thought OP was saying- that the mother was also dating the side piece. It could have been worded better.
