he probably has to take off work to see you though. but why would you want a guy who can't afford his own stuff? think of this as a blessing in disguise, and get yourself someone who can support himself.

This is funny because I am about to visit my long-distanced girlfriend only it's the other way around - I'm paying. :) That's the way it should be anyway.. you paying for him shows the lack of his dedications you're better off without him.

I'm with #5. Not that he has to always be 100% on top of things, but you definately want someone who take care of himself, make goals and keep them. Especially if they are important to him, like visiting a girlfriend should be. you're probably better off in the long run

Maybe you should find a boyfriend who is capable of paying his own way. Not to be shallow, but he sounds like a loser.

Agree with #6; if you have to pay, then maybe his heart's not in it. Unless he's worried about taking off work or something. Still, he's not being up-front with you about something, and you may be better off without him if he's not going to be open with you.

Maybe he felt bad that you were paying for everything, so he wants to pay for it himself. But I don't know your boyfriend, so I may very well be wrong.
