Yes lice prefer clean hair - but having dirty hair will not somehow repel them. They will simply hang out in the dirty hair until something better comes along. Lice can survive on hats, pillows, combs and anywhere the head touches for days - so a single person with lice can infest every person in the household without the need to actually touch heads. Lice actually prefer MEN over women for several reasons: 1; men are less likely to use chemical hair products like scented shampoos, conditioners and gel giving lice a more natural environment to live in. 2; lice live at the base of the hair shaft so hair length makes no difference. 3; men often have slightly higher body temperatures and tend to wear hats more often creating a warmer environment for the lice to live in. 4; men don't tend do brush their hair as vigorously or as often as women meaning less disruption of their environment. Other thing to consider - Lice is often passed from an adult to the children because of the myth that adults cannot get lice. Parents in homes with chronic lice treat their kids and fail to treat themselves. Frequent hair washing does not "drown" lice, it just keeps their numbers down and makes their presence less noticeable. Even with proper lice treatment, the hair must still be inspected manually and all nits and eggs removed by hand - a step that the vast majority of people skip. Head shaving does not prevent lice it just takes away the environment - the lice will return once the hair grows back if there are other people or pets in the home who have untreated or improperly treated lice.
If the big words are a problem then don't read it. My comment was for anyone who doesn't want head lice so it might not apply to you anyway.
My apologies - obviously a long comment like mine would be annoying when it does not apply to you.
LMAO Cait also seems to have failed at recognizing sarcasm unless of course she really does want lice in which case ewwwwwwww Sometimes I expect too much from trolls
Im glad I NEVER had lice! I dread my children going to school and bringing back things like that. And scabies. Omg. I caught scabies at school before. NOT fun. Its like lice, but in your skin.
