Today, it was my big sister's birthday, and I was told the iPod I ordered her online was not coming due to a mix up. I drove to three different electronic stores before I found the one she wanted. After spending forever in traffic, I came home to find a package on my doorstep. It was her iPod. FML

Today, the package I've waited for months for finally arrived. It turned out it wasn't for me, but for my sister, who bought the same thing only 2 weeks ago. When I called, the company told me they received my payment, but that there were no more of the item in stock. FML

Today, I went to visit some family out of state for my niece's birthday. I couldn't think of what to get an 8-year-old so I got her a Barbie doll. Everyone else got her money, iPods, game consoles, etc. When she got to mine she asked "how do I turn it on?" Then threw it away when she couldn't. FML

like #14 said, keep the extra for yourself or gift it for another upcoming birthday for someone, you are a good person to go to go to all diff. electronic stores to get her an ipod though! very few good hearts in this world today ;)

YDI. All you had to say was “sorry sis the package I ordered for you was delayed so you won’t get your gift for a few days”, it’s that easy. I hope the store doesn’t take the iPod you bought back because then you won’t learn anything.

like op didn't think of that? it's called not being a lazy piece of shit and doing what you can to get the present on the proper day. seeming op never said she canceled the online order, I'm assuming she knew one of the iPods would need to be returned.
