Today, I went back to school after missing the first 2 weeks of the new school year. I got grilled in my first lesson by my teacher for "gallivanting around on holiday in some sunny place" when I should've been at school learning. My dad had died from liver cancer. FML

Today, my teacher announced that he'd be out for a week because he was going to Vegas. I happily said, "Woo hoo!" Then he finished his sentence by telling me it was because his dad had died. FML

Today, my English teacher asked me why I didn't have my project completed. Thinking quick on my feet, I told her it was because my grandmother had just passed away. Apparently they go to the same country club and have known each other for years. My teacher started crying and ran out of the room. FML

Today, I had to go to my daughter's school because she hasn't been going to class. Her teacher seemed surprised to see me with my husband when we arrived. Apparently I "died" recently and my daughter has had extra responsibility around the house, hence why she doesn't come to class. FML

Today, after I missed in school for two and a half weeks, I also missed three tests. Now I gotta work for all of them during my holidays and read two books for school. My holidays are just gonna be like school, but with more work. FML

Today, I left for college. I spent hundreds of dollars on clothes, bedding and other things. After packing my entire closet and everything else I needed, I left only to have to head back home. My dad forgot to pay the first semesters tuition. He said "Oh well, you would have failed out anyway." FML

Today, I spent my first day with my parents for the first time in a year as I've been away at university. My dad went to work, and my mum spent the whole day playing mahjong with her friends as they all told me "how fat I've gotten" and how "boys won't like it". FML

This is probably one of those very rare instances where you could cuss out your teacher big time and get away with it... after you have explained to the head teacher that you father just died of course.

umm i think teachers should be so considerate first of all to not predict wat a child was away for. i think thats why we flippin have the system to report to school why the kid is missing school in the first place. if that stupid teacher actually cared she cudve asked the damn school office why the OP was missin class.. sorry to hear bout ur dad.

What a bitch. When my mom was in the hospital for liver cancer I made sure all of my teachers knew, but at the beginning of the year the school should have been informed of the situation and the principal should have told all of your teachers. I hope you made her feel SOOO bad.

my dad died of pancreatic cancer. so i know hoe you feel. if i was you the bitch wouldnt have any teeth. she dont know what goes on in peoples live so he shoulnt be running her mouth. sorry for you loss.

I'm so so sorry about your dad. I hope it works out for you. But I think you should go talk to her, in private, and ask for an apology. Publicly might make her resent you for the rest of the year...(unfortunately teachers hold grudges as well)
