Today, I was woken up and kicked out of my friend's party at 3:00 in the morning. This wouldn't have been so bad if someone hadn't stolen my shoes. I had to walk for an hour in the rain, in my socks. FML

What did you do to get kicked out under such conditions? Do you not have a phone to be able to call an uber?

I’m guessing alcohol was involved. You might want to check into AA. Walking in the rain in your stocking feet seems like the road to rock bottom.

I sure as hell wouldn't leave w/o at least a pair of the host's shoes (who chose whom to invite - incl. apparently a thief) nor would I ever walk home in the rain ESP. for an hour - sober or otherwise. Sorry, but YDI.

Could you not have asked to borrow shoes? Or what about taking your socks off? Or, and I know it'd make you look like a crazy homeless person, but you could have tied baggies around your feet, and walked home like that.
