That is standard procedure when you get a tattoo. Calm the **** down. It's not the end of the world.

i got mine at two different places, both liscenced, and creditable. neither shaved. so obviously, its really not a big deal. if ur a guy, i can see why they make you shave because guys tend to have more hair, but as for girls, i dont think it matters much, cause my tattoos are perfect, not faded, no bumps, no rashes, nothing.

i have a tattoo on my left forearm, i have no hair there, they still shaved it. its just like how they clean whatever your getting pierced before getting pierced.

I got laser hair removal on my entire body, and when I got my tattoo they still shaved it. Even though, clearly, I have no hair... Anywhere

yeah everyone has hair all over their body (only palms and bottom of feet are hairless). dont know exactly what it is but when the needle hits the hair and/or the follicle it would make your tat messes up. so it has nothing to do if your an excessively hairy person it needs to be shaved either way.
