Nothing to be ashamed about, OP. I had my first boyfriend at 16, my first kiss at 17, didn't go on a REAL date until I was 19, and now I'm a 21-year-old virgin. It doesn't really bother me one way or the other, but I do get ragged on. THAT'S the part that bothers me.

Nothing wrong with that. I waited until I was 25 to have sex. I'm now engaged to the guy and perfectly happy. I won't say that there weren't times that I regretted the choice, but in the end it was right for me.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with that OP, you go at your own pace, not someone elses. You'll find the right person one day, at least you told your friend the truth, a lot of people would have lied in that situation. :)
