Well, OP, you don't HAVE to buy her a gift. It's not law. You might give off a negative impression, but regardless, no one is forcing you to buy her anything. I'm giving the OP the benefit of the doubt, maybe he's broke, maybe his girlfriend is pressuring him to buy her something wonderful, amazing, expensive, etc, and he doesn't want to deal with that(understandably so, a lot of girls can be ridiculous like that. as can men). or maybe he's an asshole.
