Today, I asked my husband for a divorce. He said fine, as long as I got full custody of the kids. I did an actual double take; he didn’t want shared custody, he wanted me to take the kids, no arguments or negotiating, because he doesn’t want the kids anymore. FML

It sounds like the marriage has been going downhill and is at a point of no return. Even if her husband does not want a divorce, that's not any way to talk to your wife about a serious issue. It IS verbal abuse, because he's not letting her have an opinion. This man doesn't want to change, and he won't. She should leave him ASAP

Can you not sue for divorce in the States? Citing irreconciliable differences? Then the court grants you the divorce and MAKES him sign the papers.
