Today is the big day ! :)
=/ Sorry to hear that, but how did the school allow you to continue on without this shot? I know is my school makes you get the shot or else you can't continue going to school =/
I just got my 2nd vaccine for chicken pox. I'm 21. Don't go, there might be other people who've never gotten it. Graduation was a nice occasion, but it's not what I remember most when I think about high school. It's just an event.
Adults often need to stay in the hospital for chickenpox, and its a lot more painful to get it when you are older than 10 than if you get it as a young child. The main risk with adults is problems such as organ damage. I know of one person who died of complications from chicken pox - but she was 12, and it was only the autopsy that showed the chicken pox she had as a toddler were responsible (not sure what age). In her case, one of the chicken pox had gotten onto her heart, which caused her to die in her sleep without any warning at all. Risks like that are more common in adults but considering that Jill's death was a complete shock (her mother was actually the high school nurse), I'm guess thats a problem you can't tell you have until you are already dead from it
I never got the vaccination or pox either but have been lucky enough to continue avoiding it. Bummer for you :(
Crap. I don't even remember when I had chicken pox. I guess I was like 3 and it was on Easter. But I'm sorry, I hope you're still going! If I were you, I wouldn't let anything or anyone ruin my special day!
OMG I'm so sorry I just graduated from high school on Saturday and I've never had chicken pox and I pray to God I never do. Hope you feel better girl:)
HAHA WSUP ANGELA!!!!!!! Did your chicken pox get better? I don't think you will read this but when you do, IM me yeahhhh =) Good thing i never got a picture with you that day! JK I would've risked it all to get one high school picture with you
