Today, I played a friendly prank on my dad, loosening the legs of his chair so it would fall apart when he sat on it. He responded by making me stand outside and watch as he keyed both sides of my car, front to back, as punishment. FML

Today, a coworker and I pulled a April Fools' prank on our boss. She "borrowed" his keys and rolled down his window. I took a car window from a scrap yard and sprinkled it on the ground near his door. His response was to kick the nearest object in anger. The nearest object happened to be my car. FML

Today, I borrowed my dad's car to run a quick errand, which he never lets me do. I thought I’d got away with it until he got home and started yelling. I forgot, dad always reverses into driveways, while I prefer to drive straight in, and I'd parked his car facing the wrong way. FML

Nonsense. It's not just a prank. A collapsing chair has hurt many people seriously. I know someone who could barely move for several years because of a collapsing chair. I think the father should have thrown him out of the house for being so stupid .

I think keying your car is taking it a bit too far. However, your little chair prank could have ended very badly. You could have been paying hospital bills instead of car repairs. I don't think you deserved that, but you did deserve some sort of payback. Sorry about your luck, OP.

That may be a friendly prank to a teenager, but to older folks, bones break more easily and take longer to heal. Just be glad he didn't show up to your school in a miniskirt and a tight blouse.
