Today, I learned that the four girls who I assumed were my girlfriends' good friends and whom she was always talking about were actually characters from the television show, "Sex and the City." My girlfriend has fictional friends. FML

You need to start talking about the hilarious things your friend Optimus Prime said the other day.

well think of it this way: at least she doesn't have Edward CUllen as a fictional boyfriend...or at least lets hope not... XD

Why does everyone hate Twilight?! Not everybody is an obsessed freak like that one person who dumped her boyfriend for Edward. Okay? Some people just like the books! ~Twilight Book Fan, not character fanatic.

Besides the fact that the author wrote four books around her own Mary Sue? And that said Mary Sue is a whining moron who is an embarrassment to women the world over? Well, okay. They're also terribly written. Her editors should be shot.

Because Edward's a stalker who abuses his girlfriend?

Books are opinions. Just saying, just because you personally dont like them doesnt mean others cant. :) Thanks!

That would be your gf's fml.

Eventually your girlfriend is going to start running out of stories, considering the show stopped making new episodes in 2004 and the movie has been on DVD for over a year. But, I guess the show did air for 6 years. So, that'll probably keep her supplied with stories longer than your relationship will last.

I think it's mostly a FYL, but a little part of me says YDI. How do you not recognize those four names all together? Does your best friend talk about his other friends Raphael, Leonardo, Michelangelo, and Donatello?

Most guys don't watch sex and the city. Their friends don't really talk about it. And if their girlfriend starts talking about it, they tune out. You can't really expect guys to instantly be going "HOMG! SEX AND TEH CITY!" just from hearing those four names

I'm a man. Maybe the rest of you could try not tuning out your girlfriends. If they're talking about, they probably consider it important (no matter how stupid and trivial you think it is). Besides, Sex and the City was, I hear, slightly popular with those of the female persuasion; having a cursory knowledge of the show could not possibly hurt.

I'm female and I know what he's talking about. Who doesn't love TMNT :O

I'm a girl and I don't know anything about that show except that there are a few old women being ****** and gold diggers. Some people don't sit endlessly on the couch or whatever watching television.

Anytime someone talks about characters on a TV show - especially one that's been canceled for five years - as if they're real people usually has issues.

Omg that is so sad on SOOO many levels!

I'm confused. Is the FML that you don't pay enough attention to her talking about her favorite TV show, and just assumed that those four people she was talking about were her friends?

at least theres a less chance of her leaving you?

Haha, well, he's actually her fictional boyfriend.
