Today, I held the door open for an old lady, before realizing she was a teacher taking 20-plus kids to lunch at local burger joint, all of whom got in front of me in the line to order. FML

To quote Donald Glover, "Kids are like tiny little Hitlers."

"If Hitler could do it to so many people, then so can I."

Hopefully karma will reward you for being awesome. :-)

Lol, no good deed goes unpunished. The woman should've had you go before them due to basic logic and as a token of her gratitude.

My next question is: Since when were teachers allowed to take kids to burger joints?

I would've said **** that and settled for Burger King or something

Ouch that sucks. At least you were trying to be nice, more people could stand to do stuff like that a little more often. She should have let you go ahead though, it seems kind of rude on her part to me to not say "Oh it's okay, it's a large group, but thank-you".

If you wanted to do a nice thing, don't be upset with the consequences

Normally for groups that large, don't most burger joints require that they call their orders ahead so that this kind of scenario doesn't occur?? Maybe it's different up here in Canada, but I've seen groups be turned away in several different chains, being asked that they leave a written order for pickup within the hour, and that next time they must call ahead *shrug* still nice to see that some people still have manners tho

no, its not like that and that wouldn't be a good business move at all. Americans don't turn down money making opportunities like that I've never seen it in that kind of scenario.
