Well to be fair, that was the news of the night. Although that question as an immediate response to a health concern of a partner is definitely inconsiderate and wildly inappropriate.
I took this more so as a "wow did you pass out because you heard leo won an oscar" sort of situation. Like jokingly attributing his passing out to hearing such suprising news rather than her just going off topic and disregarding him. Personally I would've assumed the former idea and laughed it off because that's not a half bad joke.
She was probably just trying to cheer you up by not talking about it.
