Today, I had to hand write a 10 page essay for one of my classes. When I turned it in I got an automatic zero. It was written in blue. Not black. FML

Today, I went to check my grade, which was posted for an essay for my comp 1 class. I got a zero. I was devastated only to find out I never actually clicked the submit document button. My grade dropped 20 points. FML

Today, after turning in a paper that I worked really hard on, I got it back with a grade of 0. In the feedback section, my professor wrote: “In all my 37 years of teaching, this is by far the worst essay I have ever read.” FML

Today, I broke my dominant hand. My teacher insists we hand-write our essays. I called and asked if it was okay for me to type up the essays. She said no. I have two essays due tomorrow, which count for half my grade. FML

Today, my teacher told me that she couldn't find my hand-written essay on the Renaissance, and that I have to re-do it all by tomorrow. I later saw my essay on her desk, covered in a massive coffee stain that made virtually everything unreadable. FML

Today, I asked my professor what happened to the assignment I gave him several weeks ago. Turns out he lost it, and graded me zero as a result. Now if I want a mark, he says I'll have to hand-write it all over again, but that I "probably shouldn't bother," because it was "a bit shit, really." FML

Today, I had my teacher look over my essay before turning it in. He said it was extremely well-written, so I handed it in. When I got it back, the feedback he left said it was one of the worst essays he'd ever read. FML

Today, I got a writing assignment back. After meeting with my professor specially after class and meticulously combing through every word of that paper, I got a low D. Turns out, he graded me down on every suggestion of his that I took. FML

I agree, too. It is well-deserved if it was specified, which it typically is. Nevertheless, you should never assume you can submit typed papers in anything but black ink. This was supposed to be a reply to #2. Phail.

Not all students have typewriters or computers. Allowing handwritten papers might actually be a sign of compassion in some low-income school districts. (Here's an article if you'reinterested: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/12/05/AR2009120501746.html) Also, some teachers are trying to teach penmanship, rapidly becoming a lost art, along with content. That said, personally I think the teacher's a douche for giving a zero. Of course, it doesn't matter what I think.

yea that sucks. sounds like a bitch teacher....I guess that's an understatement. but in retro-spect : she might have wanted to know if yall could follow exact instructions.....idk. but hand written? dam.....fyl.
