Today, I had a lady come up to me in a store just to tell me how bad my acne was and what remedies I should use. I got so embarrassed, all I could say was, "OK" and, "Thank you" until she left me alone. FML

Wow sorry to hear OP, I'm sure her intentions were pure but sometimes people don't realise that pointing out such issues are upsetting.

What the **** is wrong with some people... Social etiquette sure is dwindling, good God.

This happened to me too while I was at work and she got me so upset and self-conscious when all I had was a few stubborn pimples.

That's happened to me before, too, OP. Sorry about that, it sucks :/

This happened to me when I was 13 on a London bus- a random old Chinese lady came up to me and started talking about lime juice liqueurs and the like, safe to say I didn't try them! I'm sure yours was the same- they're just trying to help! Good on you for being polite; if your acne is a serious concern then talk to your doctor, there are medicines that are much more effective than old wives tales and can completely clear your skin in months :)

I know what you're going through. Don't let it bother you.

YDI simply for the fact that you didn't tell her to **** off and mind her own ******* business.

A lot of people don't understand that acne, especially chronic acne, isn't easy to get rid of. I've been on prescription drugs for mine and tried every remedy I could get my hands on, but none of them have made it go away completely. I hope you're able to take care of yours, and I hope that the unexpected comment didn't get to you too much OP.

Not to give you that bad memory again, but I recommend calcium bentonite clay. I've always had annoyingly visible acne, and it helped.

Been there! I was 13 years old and went into a chemist with my parents to stock up on shampoo. An older male clerk intercepted us and spoke at length to me and my parents about the 'distressing' and inflamed acne that was erupting all over my face because of, what he believed, was a clearly undiagnosed allergy. That was the first and only time we bought coal-tar shampoo; it became a relic in our bathroom for almost a decade.

You guys are immature. In the real world, people talk to you in an unsolicited manner, sometimes about personal things, and it's okay. It's not like middle school where there are little groups who talk.
