Today, I finally gathered up the guts to say hi to the girl I like. As I was walking down the hallway, I saw her and waved hello, only to walk into a bathroom door. FML
Today, I finally got the courage to ask out a girl I've had a crush on for months now. She told me I was very cute and then walked off. I still don't have an answer. FML
Today, I decided to talk to a girl at the gym I had seen there a lot. I walked up to her at the station she was at and asked her out to dinner sometime. I didn't realize she had been wearing headphones. She took them off and asked if I was waiting on the station. My courage left. I said yes. FML
Today, I finally worked up the courage to write a girl a note, with my number on it, and the words: "You're stunning. Get in touch sometime." Heart pounding, I saw her, got up, and passed her the note. Then I passed out at her feet. FML
Today, I finally worked up the nerve to talk to the girl I like. After awkwardly saying hi, I manage to work up a nice conversation with her. I thought everything was going well, until I got home and realized that she had stolen money out of my wallet. FML
Today, it was my first time at the club. I saw a really cute girl. I finally worked up the courage to ask her to dance. Before I even got within five feet of her, she looked me in the eyes and vehemently shook her head. I did a 180. My friends saw everything. They are still laughing. FML
Today, I approached the girl I like, hoping to ask her out. Just as I strode up to her, she excused herself as quickly as she could. I then realized I'd forgotten to zip up my pants after going to the bathroom minutes before. FML
Today, I finally mustered up the courage to send a message to the girl I've been crushing on for years. I'm now blocked. FML
Today, I built up the courage to approach my gym crush. I walked over, smiled, and said, "You smell amazing." I meant to say he looked amazing. He faintly smiled, then slowly went back to the rowing machines without saying a word. FML
Today, I finally worked up the courage to ask out the girl I like. After nervously fumbling through my words, I asked, "Want to grab a cup of water sometime?" She looked at me confused, then asked if I meant coffee. FML

I don't think any of you understand what staring down means. She wasn't looking at him with her head cocked to the side, big round eyes peering innocently out from behind golden curls. If she was staring him down, she knew why he was there, and she wanted him to know how deeply she despised him for trying. I feel for you, OP.

Protip: If you approach someone, be prepared to have something to say. The person who approaches must start the conversation. I sincerely hope that a 12 or 13-year-old guy writing this and not a grown man. Either way, don't let one failure stop you. Learn from it, grow a pair, and try again.

All of you who are being rude should take note that by "approach a girl" he meant "go up and try talk to a girl he likes" not "get close enough to any member of the opposite sex so she could notice him, then just stand there, staring, and wait for her to talk." I'm sure OP has no problem talking to girls he is just friends with. OP - A friend of mine has the same problem with guys, and hasn't yet been able to have an in-person conversation with a guy she likes. Look at it this way: at least you learned early on that she's not worth it... But we're not all bitches, don't worry. :D

She sounds pretty rude, gives a whole new meaning to "The worst she cans say is no." Don't let it get to you, girls like that are stuck up, waaaay too into themselves. Don't listen to all these people telling you to dress up and learn to manipulate women, that's just fake. I'm sure just being yourself will work out eventually.

Why are people saying YDI? She sounds like a b**ch that isn't worth your time anyway. I hope she gets a guy who refuses "no" for an answer and busts her ass. When she's cut down to size like that, hopefully she'll learn to treat people better. It's fine not to want to go out with someone or not to be attracted to someone.
