Today, I allowed my friend to practice driving in my car. As she began to let the car roll forward, she looked at me and very seriously asked, "Brakes is the right pedal, right?" FML

She's learning to drive, of course she doesn't know yet. Sounds like she could use a less condescending friend!

YDI for not going through a little orientation before letting her drive...

if she doesn't even know where the brake pad was how did she shift the gear from P to D. presuming you drive an auto transmission.

Take her to the bumper cars to learn her first lesson. Just make sure she doesn't try to steer with her feet.

I find this interesting considering you have to press the brake to get an automatic in gear, and most situations you need the gas in a standard... either way if the car is moving they already know which is which

Im going to lol if I see an FML soon say, "My friend that didnt know brake from gas wrecked my car." You WILL deserve it! I thought pedal function is common knowledge. If not, you still learn that in drivers ed. And if they havent been, then they shouldnt be driving

27 got it right. Your friend was LEARNING. You sound like a poor teacher.
