Today, even though I'm overweight, I was feeling alright about the way I looked in the historical costume I'm required to wear by my job. A little kid came in and asked me if I was having a baby. Guess I don't look as good as I thought. FML

"No, I'm just a little bloated from the last bratty child I ate." *glare*

Kids are brutal. No filters whatsoever.

It not about what other people think it about what you think about yourself. Also in a little kids eyes you might look bigger then you really are cause they are so small

I always thought that old fashioned clothes made everyone look pregnant. They just have a bad cut to them, especially if you go for realism.

Sorry OP, but I'm sure you look beautiful. ❤️

Ah, he's just a little kid, so he has a skewed perception and no mental filter. Some folks, especially in the southern U.S., would respond with a fake smile and "bless your heart". Which really means the opposite.

Why did you mention "bless your heart"? I don't see how it fits here.

Nonsense. Many pregnant women are radiant.

Kids wouldn't notice the glow. If the kid asked it was because of OP's size or appearance in the costume.

Should have told him/her "Yes, I'm having your baby brother." Then walked off.

happens to me all the time op.

Sit on the next child who asks, that's the only solution. I honestly wouldn't worry about it, we're only going to be alive for like 80 more years tops, we shouldn't waste time feeling self conscious and afraid to do things because of how we look
