They should have paid for your dinner. I am proud that you obtained you GED. I don't know your situation, but your GED proves that you were determined to reach higher. You could have walked away from education all together yet you didn't. Diplomas are nice, but I'll take a GED over nothing anyday.
That six
Your family is mean. :-S You did something good for yourself. The least they could do is pay for it....even if they all have to chip a few bucks in the cover the bill.
i read onelike this b4...i dont understand who would make someone pay for something when they're the one being celebrated
Yea its their fault
Its a GED, thats what I would expect. If it was a Diploma, then I bet your family would be more gracious....so I'm going to have to agree with #28 And to #147 (And anyone else who said something similar, I didn't read all your posts), diplomas look better to colleges and jobs then a GED. Diploma attracts universities, GED is more for community colleges. A GED is not higher then a diploma, better then nothing, but it does not show anymore determination then just getting a Diploma. Maybe to you, but not to the people who will really matter to your future.... But, it is still good that you got your GED, cause thats better then nothing. So congrats. If you had nothing, you couldn't even find a job better then minimum wage at fast food.... And I got about the same for my graduation a couple years ago, about $50 from my grandparents, and thats about it. Although we went to dinner at Olive Garden and I didn't have to pay, but the bill was only around $50-70, cause there was only 5 of us. And this was for getting a diploma. Your GED graduation sounds like it was more fun then my high school graduation. So be happy
They shouldn't expect you to pay unless they tell you about it beforehand. In a situation like this, tell them you have to go to the bathroom then bail. If you drove, all is well. Otherwise, call a cab.

Your family are assholes.
You should have climbed out of the bathroom window and bailed :) hehe.
