Today, after months of dieting, I finally reached my goal weight. Excitedly I told my boyfriend, who gave me a beautiful dress as an early Christmas present. It was a size too small. FML

Today, I finally got the wedding dress I've been waiting months to see. It turns out that my mom ordered the dress 2 sizes smaller than my size, this way it will be "an incentive to lose weight". FML

Today, I'd finally reached my goal weight. I went into the office where my husband was, to show him the new size 8 jeans I'd bought. He responded with "I wouldn't buy any more clothes, you'll be putting the weight back on again soon." FML

Today, I received the beautiful dress I'd ordered on the internet. It's a size smaller than my usual, just to encourage me to lose weight. I managed to fit into it and wear it all day, but I've now been struggling for a couple of hours to remove it without tearing it to bits. FML

Today, I bought my fiancée a dress for her birthday. She accused me of saying she was fat, because I bought it in medium rather than small. After trying on the dress, she's now not only mad at me for buying it, but also because the dress fits perfectly. FML

Today, my boyfriend bought me a pair of jeans. I couldn't fit into them, and he reacted to this by saying I've gotten too fat for him, and he can't be with me anymore. I took them off and saw they were a size 4. I've been a size 8 for the past 2 years, and he knows this. FML

Today, I finally gave my mum an expensive designer dress I spent months saving to buy for her as she had been very depressed. However she has gained so much weight from stress eating she ripped it when trying to put it on, and now won't talk to me because, "I wanted to make her feel fat". FML

I laugh a little bit whenever I see guys trying to buy clothes for their girlfriends for Christmas. If it's too small, she'll think you want her to lose weight. If it's too big, she'll think you think she's fat. Or it'll be unflattering. There's a reason women spend so much time in dressing rooms. It takes a long time to find clothes that look good. Unless it's a scarf or a bathrobe, please don't buy it.

None of those crash diets or "eat only one thing for two weeks" diets ever works. They end up gaining more weight overall because they're literally starving themselves...

I think it's sweet that your boyfriend is cheering you on. You're probably the one that told him that your weight goal is to fit into a size 6 (example). I bet he went by the dress size you said. Btw many different clothing company have different charts. One dress size is still great to be off by. Congrats, almost there.

Did you tell him the size? Because it's hard to guess someone's size... And sizes can vary between shops, I'm a 12 one place and a 14 another. And styles of dresses can fit people differently... Buying clothes for people when they're not there to try them on is very difficult!

Seriously this is an fml? Your bf made a mistake or the outfit has weird sizes. I know a lot of clothes seem to vary in their sizes. Be a big girl and tell him it is too small. I'm sure you can return it and get the right size.
