Step-father, right?

Today, it's my daughter’s 18th birthday. Today is also the day that my husband told me he’s leaving me for her, and he wants a divorce. When I threatened to press charges for potentially grooming her as a minor, he told me I don’t have a leg to stand on because, “She’s been at the age of consent anyway.” FML

JFC.. you NEED to call the police and get an investigation started.. that is definitely a groomer and being the age of consent NOW does not mean the previous grooming is legal. I'm a survivor of my own BIO father doing this.. please don't let him get away with it.

Reading this made me gag… Im literally sick to my stomach. The worst part is that there really are sickos out here like your (hopefully) ex husband who prey on young girls. That man is going to hell (and hopefully jail)

I think he meant she’s been at the age of consent for a while. (Some states have age of consent below 18) But irregardless of that she was still a minor and it’s just not right. I wish they would raise the age of consent to 18 for ALL states.

Whoever downvoted @copalolita's comment, I hope that was a mistake. If it wasn't, you're sick and need professional help.

Would they class her as being at the age of consent, if he was classed as being in a 'trusted position'? Like a teacher or coach.

Absolutely disgusting. Call the police on that man immediately. He was in a position of authority with your then minor daughter, and that makes it illegal.

I really hope he's her step father and you've called the police and your own divorce lawyer by now.
