Smart

Today, my daughter left a plate of food in her room for two hours. When I yelled at her about ants, her response was, "But I thought it took DAYS for ants to show up!" I raised this dumbass. FML

If this is the parenting style you have and the mindset you have I feel sorry for your daughter. To yell at her over a plate that was left for only 2 hours is excessive and unnecessary. Your daughter is going to resent you and you'll have a strained relationship if you continue yelling at her. Rather than yelling at her when she makes a mistake, try talking to her calmly and explaining the reasons why. Then instead of being made to feel like an idiot, she'll feel like she has the knowledge and will understand why she can't do something and will be less likely to do it again in the future. It takes an average of 21 consecutive days to build a habit so you also need to give an adjustment period. So stop your bad helicopter parenting and start parenting with love. Do better.

Hey “Mom of the Year”,

If ants showed up within hours, kitchen would quickly be overrun by ants when preparing big meals like Thanksgiving or Christmas dinners.

The other stuff aside, you're calling your daughter a dumbass? You sound extremely toxic, I hope someday she gets the therapy she needs to deal with having had to have you as her mother.
