Scammed

Today, I sold a dresser on OfferUp. When I arrive at the customer’s house to deliver it and discussed the payment, she got upset and called me a selfish, greedy bitch because she’s a "single mom on food stamps." She berated me to the point of tears. I left without getting my money. FML

Does Offerup have a "Report buyer" function? Because if she couldn't afford the dresser then she shouldn't have contacted you in the first place. We all have our own shit to deal with, you are not responsible for furnishing her house.

Never make arrangements for a delivery without first agreeing on a price and how it will be paid. While I sympathize with a poor, single mom there is no reason you have to support her with free furniture.

Yes it does. You can report anyone you’ve messaged and give a detailed explanation as to what happened and also leave them a bad review which can be seen publicly

Report her to OfferUp and leave a bad review. People will be able to see her bad rating. She also agreed to the price listed if she didn’t make any other arrangements to lower the price.

Should have left with the dresser. If it had been food (or even secondhand clothes) I might have still left it out of sympathy but no one NEEDS a dresser.

Next time use cash ap and get paid first

put your story under r/slash on reddit and it might get published on youtube/spotify

Sounds like you were scammed. intimidation and it's various forms is often used by scam artists to intimidate people into something free or at a much lower price.

if you were stupid enough to unload the dresser and leave it, then ydi
