How did you lose gas costs? You were going to have to drive there anyways. Your contract writing skills are weak. They should be paying you for all of your time they are taking up. Whether they are ready for you or not is their problem. And your rate should be high enough that gas costs are just a blip on your radar.
Damn dude that sucks...I do IT work for a major health care organization where my coworkers and I are hourly (or salary) and we get reimbursed for mileage. Good luck and have a safe drive home!
Extra day off! That means you can go exploring the... uh... shit... what is there to do in South Dakota?
So an update is in order: Through miscommunication, i was informed it was one job and not actually another. After 3 hours they moved the project so it could get partly done that day. The reason i said I don’t get paid is that the site blamed me saying i screwed up on date and was working through a contract agency, and refused to sign papers i was there unless work was done. I had proof i was there, but after 50 some odd phone calls, it was the client that messed up. My agency negotiated for work to be done or they would face penalties. I’m pissed they tried to blame me, but in the end, with some luck and determination, the work was rescheduled for 4 hours that day, allowing me to get paid. But I submitted this before the snafu was eventually resolved and negotiated to get it done rather than return, but I submitted this two weeks ago and it just went live. I never saw moderation till now.
