Today, I asked my boss for a raise, but he told me my position is a legal requirement that produces no profit, unlike every other employee, ergo if I’m feeling ungrateful about my generous wage, he will happily fire me and hire someone else at minimum wage, saving the company money. FML

In that case, you might as well go work somewhere else, thus letting your boss scramble to fill the legal requirement he talked about.

Those are some nightmare employees sometimes. I’ve worked with both good dei people and loved it, and then I’ve worked with some really bad box checkers to the point our customers begged for them to be fired. Dei box checking isn’t always bad, unless talent in that group runs out. But box checkers aren’t always bad either.
