Today, my boss told me that he didn’t want to promote me because my, “scores were too good.” He then told me that I would be getting twice as much work to do than my coworkers, without a raise. I work minimum wage. FML

Get a new job. It’s minimum wage, hopefully shouldn’t be too hard to find a replacement.

Sounds like it’s time for a new job.

Give your 2 weeks. If your boss really wants to keep you, they will give you that raise.

Go to HR dear. That’s bullshit

Never go to HR. They are just corporate lackeys who protect the management from worker lawsuits.

Show your scores to a competitor and get a better-paying job.

Yeah sounds like he’s worried that if he promotes you then he’ll be concerned you’ll be at his level or something. You got a few options. Talk to your boss, quit and find better, or take it up with HR.

Look for another job. Then when offered a position use that to negotiate with your boss for a raise. If he says no, then take the other job. problem solved.

So you complain just find a new job and report his ass before you leave

In other words, your boss is afraid that you'll replace him/her.

No, I think he just wants him as a high performer in the lower position. Great way to lose an employee.
