Today, I'm seven months into a twelve month deployment. I called my fiancée, and she dumped me. The worst part is that two days ago, I re-enlisted to go to a unit an hour away from her house. FML
Today, my girlfriend of six months dumped me over the phone. I'm in the military and recently had to move away to another fort. We'd agreed that we would try to make long distance work. I'd even offered to buy a plane ticket to come see her each weekend. I've been gone less than two weeks. FML
Today, I got back from an 8 month deployment but rather than being pleased to see me my wife wanted to continue the same argument we were having the day I left. I miss being shot at. FML
Today, my girlfriend of over a year broke up with me while I'm deployed overseas. Her reason why is that she needs "to be alone to better herself." FML
Today, my girlfriend left for basic training. I went to say goodbye to her at the airport. Only after I walked back to my car did I realize that she still had the keys. My extra set was back at the house, locked in. FML
Today, I went to pick up my long-distance boyfriend at the airport. It has been over six months since I last saw him and four days since I last heard from him. He never showed up. FML
Today, my boyfriend came home from being deployed for the past 3 months. As soon as he gets out of the car, he walks right past me and goes to hug his dog. FML
Today, my fiancé left for a 6-month deployment overseas. I waved him away, came back inside alone, and cried. I know this is what I signed up for, but the cat could've shown more sympathy than staring at me and walking away. FML
Today, I came home on leave from a 7 month deployment to Iraq. I wanted to see my girlfriend today, but she needed to spend time with her sick grandmother. As it turns out, her sick grandmother and my cousin are the same person. FML
Today, I met the girl who dumped me because the distance between us was too great. We're in the same city again. She's now dating a Marine in Iraq. FML

lol, at #3. No one takes intramural sports seriously. Certainly no one considers it a responsibility to play intramural sports where half the people show up drunk. This was a burn big time. You should take as much offense to this as possible.

That sucks man...I don't understand why everybody is hounding on you for not getting a ride from someone else in your family-its the fact that your gf of that long ditched your homecoming for an intramural game....which doesn't matter. Thank you for serving your country and hopefully you can work things out or find someone better!

#30...He should have gave her a date before He left. She should have cleared and put everything off for at least 2 weeks; She has 6 months to plan!!!!!!! what more does she ******* need?. She needs to be the one to be planning not him. He has been deployed. She is very irresponsible; none of my friends and I would never do that to our boyfriends. His family has nothing to do this; his girlfirend should be there and she needs to ditch this game for him. This is way more important. If she cried when he left she shoulf feel ashamed because she can't make it to a his homecoming. Are you serious????

You definitely deserve someone who better appreciates what you do for our country. A sport, most especially an intramural sport, is no excuse for not showing a person how much you love and support them.

My ex-boyfriend used to blow me off all the time for intramural sports. He liked playing games so much that he's just playing with himself from now on! That's my best advice.

LOL From these 2 lines we cannt tell wether they had any agreement or promises, did she supported his decision to join the army or begged him to find another decent job and not leave her for 6months. We dont know what was going on between them. He knows that she was going to a softball game. It means they have communicated recently. Had he bothered to ask her how she felt, what is important to her? And, yes, maybe she just doesnt want to dump him on phone or in the airport, but is going to do it in a decent way face to face later. She is a bitch if she supported joining the army and promised to wait for him before the deployment. If she did not, then she just has her life as she wants it to be. The guy has a choice: to accept her "not so noble", "not so important" and "not so serving" life and value her choices as much as his own or leave her forever.
