Today, I got back from a six month deployment overseas. My girlfriend of three years couldn't pick me up from the airport because she had an intramural softball game to go to. FML

Today, I'm seven months into a twelve month deployment. I called my fiancée, and she dumped me. The worst part is that two days ago, I re-enlisted to go to a unit an hour away from her house. FML
Today, my girlfriend of six months dumped me over the phone. I'm in the military and recently had to move away to another fort. We'd agreed that we would try to make long distance work. I'd even offered to buy a plane ticket to come see her each weekend. I've been gone less than two weeks. FML
Today, I got back from an 8 month deployment but rather than being pleased to see me my wife wanted to continue the same argument we were having the day I left. I miss being shot at. FML
Today, my girlfriend of over a year broke up with me while I'm deployed overseas. Her reason why is that she needs "to be alone to better herself." FML
Today, my girlfriend left for basic training. I went to say goodbye to her at the airport. Only after I walked back to my car did I realize that she still had the keys. My extra set was back at the house, locked in. FML
Today, I went to pick up my long-distance boyfriend at the airport. It has been over six months since I last saw him and four days since I last heard from him. He never showed up. FML
Today, my boyfriend came home from being deployed for the past 3 months. As soon as he gets out of the car, he walks right past me and goes to hug his dog. FML
Today, my fiancé left for a 6-month deployment overseas. I waved him away, came back inside alone, and cried. I know this is what I signed up for, but the cat could've shown more sympathy than staring at me and walking away. FML
Today, I came home on leave from a 7 month deployment to Iraq. I wanted to see my girlfriend today, but she needed to spend time with her sick grandmother. As it turns out, her sick grandmother and my cousin are the same person. FML
Today, I met the girl who dumped me because the distance between us was too great. We're in the same city again. She's now dating a Marine in Iraq. FML

lol, at #3. No one takes intramural sports seriously. Certainly no one considers it a responsibility to play intramural sports where half the people show up drunk. This was a burn big time. You should take as much offense to this as possible.

Wow are you ******* serious #3 and #11?! I think an INTRAMURAL softball game could be put off...its not even playing against other schools its playing against other people on campus. I mean Jesus people like you two ***** need to be shot if you think a ******* softball game is more important than seeing your boyfriend of three years after being in Iraq or Afghanistan for half a year.

#2 Im sorry there is no way to make it up. I have been with my boyfriend for almost 3 years He is in the military as well. I would hold off everything else because he is coming home; nothing is more important than him. #3 Your a idiot as well. HE WAS DEPLOYED!!!! your an idiot. Thers is no understanding. I don't think you have been around the military. That is a way important day not to miss. She does not deserve you. You need a girl that will be there no matter what. She needs to put you first before any "softball game"

I dunno, just sounds like poor planning on someone's part. Either she's irresponsible and didn't bother to check her calendar the day you were coming back, or you didn't tell her when until the last minute, in which case that's to be expected. Also, where's your family in the whole of this? Your girlfriend can't be the only one there who has a car?

#30 i dont think the point was that he didnt get a ride from his gf.. it was that his gf picked a softball game over going to see him as soon as he got back from being deployed for 6 MONTHS. If this was my bf, especially of 3 years, id be sure that he was my first priority as soon as he got back.
