Today, my mother-in-law decided my husband has COVID-19, read some debunked articles about how ibuprofen makes the symptoms worse, and scolded me for giving him ibuprofen for his muscle pain. I'm an actual medical doctor. FML

How DARE you criticize anything that’s going on. You must have TDS for not immediately sucking the teat of DearDivineEternalLeaderWhoKnowsAll’s authority at all costs! And OP’s MIL is correct in doing her research - Clearly, internet reports from shady online sources are better than advice from a licensed medical doctor. The internet comes from all around the world, so it must know everything, right? ...Right?

Just because you have a PHD and MD after a decade+ of college and medical school, years of residency and working every day as a doctor, you think you know something about medicine. Yeah, ok - you know a lot more than I ever will. Hope your husband listened to you and not his delusional mom.
